Induction and Training
Induction
Induction is an important part of the School's OHS&W plan as it ensures all personnel on campus are aware of the necessary procedures for safe work within the School.
All new staff and students at the School must undergo a Local OHS&W Induction as part of their general induction. Additional OHS&W inductions exist for specialised work areas such as laboratories and workshop areas.
The documents used for these inductions are provided below however you will need to attend an induction session with your supervisor (or the supervisor of that work area) before being permitted to work.

Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
- Open the School's Training Needs Analysis (School intranet users only)
The School's OHS&W training needs are determined through a process of Hazard Identification to determine where specialised training is required to minimise risk.
Common OHS&W training requirements include Hazard Management/Risk Assessment Training, Chemical Safety Management Training, Manual Handling Training, Fire & Emergency Training, and Senior First Aid Training. Task specific training is available in-house or through specialist training companies.
Training requirements are recorded in the School's Training Needs Analysis document, which is reviewed and updated regularly. The TNA is also used as the School's Training Register, recording all training undertaken to date.
University OHS&W Training Plan
The University runs many OHS&W courses and you are encouraged to take any courses that may be relevant to your line of work.
