Workplace Inspections / AuditsThe Workplace Inspection / Audit process goes hand in hand with the induction given to new students / staff memebrs, and ensures early detection of any hazards or non-compliance with safety directives explained during induction. Workplace inspections typically occur once a year for non-hazardous areas such as office spaces, and more frequently for hazardous areas such as laboratories or workshops. The inspections look for a wide range of hazards, such as out of test electrical equipment, high storage, non-compliance with Safe Operating Procedures, poor chemical handling, slip / trip hazards and workstation ergonomics. Any areas which fail checks receive recommendations on remedial action, the effectiveness of which is checked in the subsequent inspection. The School is committed to a regular inspection schedule to ensure we maintain a safe working environment. Recent Workplace Inspection ResultsResults from the most recent workplace inspections are shown below. Workplace inspections are recorded in RMSS where the full details of each inspection can be found.
