Overview

The Master of Engineering (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) program aims to provide an opportunity for graduates of electrical, electronic, computer systems, communications or telecommunications engineering from a diverse range of institutions globally to develop their knowledge to an advanced level in both general professional and technical areas.

The program is suitable for students who have recently graduated or are about to graduate and wish to pursue further studies as well as engineers with some years of work experience.

The program is two semesters full-time study of masters level coursework, consisting of core and specialisation courses. The core courses are designed to provide generic skills applicable across all fields of engineering and include Statistics in Engineering, System Modelling and Simulation and Applied Project Management. The specialisations are in microelectronics, signal processing and communications, radio frequency engineering, or power electronics and drive systems.

Applicants should note that the courses in this program are of a high academic standard and are designed to build on existing knowledge established in an undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering program. The Master of Engineering is not a discipline conversion program. Accordingly applicants are advised that they should have studied at least two of the above areas of specialisation in some depth (no less than half of a semester's work, in total) in their Bachelor of Engineering program. Familiarity with signal processing techniques, basic electromagnetics, electronics, matrix algebra and elementary statistics will be assumed in many of these courses.
