===Cipher Analysis===
The cipher analysis can be expanded in future years. While as many ciphers as possible were investigated in 2011, there are many more potential possibilities. The [[Cipher Cross-off List|cipher cross-off list]] provides a solid foundation with which the investigation can be built in future projects. If the investigation is continued there is the associated opportunity to expand the CipherGUI software. The modular structure designed by the 2011 team enables the functionality of many more ciphers to be easily integrated into the software provided the encryption and decryption methodologies are implemented in the Java programming language and conform to the established interface. Additional analysis features could also be integrated into the CipherGUI such as the implementation of a Frequency Analysis algorithm to attempt to solve substitution ciphers.
