Noorfazila Kamal was born in Perak, Malaysia in 1979. From 1997 to 2000, she was educated at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), in Johor Bharu, Malaysia, where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering with honours. In 2001 she worked as a tutor in the The Department of Electrical, Electronic and Systems Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. In October 2002, she joined The Department of Electrical, Electronic and Systems Engineering, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
In October 2005, she was granted a scholarship from Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia to pursue her study at School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, The University of Adelaide. Here, under the supervision of Derek Abbott and Said F. Al-Sarawi, she studied toward her PhD in Electronic Engineering. Her PhD work was part of the Gigabit Low-cost Integrated Millimeter-wave Radio (GLIMMR) project, which was funded by an Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Research Grant, together with NHEW R&D Pty. Ltd.
Her research involves frequency synthesis in a millimeter-wave RF transceiver. Noorfazila has delivered presentations at a number of conferences in Adelaide, Canberra, and Kuala Lumpur.
